Information
When can I register?
You can register online until December 21. Online registration closes December 22.
If you miss online registration, you can register in-person at the hotel in the Swan Ballroom on the evening of December 27.
(The committee is off-duty and unavailable December 22 to 26.)
What are the rooms like?
We visited the hotel in September. The rooms are in great condition. They are all newly-renovated. They have fridges and microwaves.
There are three main types of rooms.
Ocean view rooms are on the side of the hotel. They have two queen beds, a sitting room, and a balcony.
Oceanfront rooms face the ocean. They have queen or king beds, a balcony, and no sitting room.
Regular rooms have two queen beds and a sitting room with a sleeper sofa. There is a view, but not of the ocean. These are the rooms we will use for the teens.
This hotel does not allow pets. The Breakers Hotel nearby allows pets.
What are the rates?
Rates vary based on age and accommodation.
Teens and Students: $100 per person for a shared room with a sitting room (3-5 people per room)
Adults: $225 per adult for a shared room with an ocean view, a sitting room with a sleeper sofa, and a balcony (2 or more people per room) (for couples, families with children, and adults with roommates)
Adults: $275 per adult for a shared oceanfront room with a balcony (but no sitting room) (2 people per room)
One Adult alone in a private, single-occupancy room: $450 (1 person per room)
The conference is FREE for children 12 and under.
Can teens attend without a parent?
Yes, but they need a guardian (over the age of 30) on-site for the entire conference. Tell us the guardian's name when you register.
How do we pay?
Pay online.
If you can't pay online, pay the registrar Emily Walker using U.S. cash or U.S. checks.
Don't pay the hotel.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. Pack comfortable clothes. We are a casual group, even on Sundays.
What should I bring?
Bring fun things for the beach (frisbees, volleyballs, spike ball, footballs, yoga mats)
Bring games (boardgames, cards, cribbage boards, puzzles)
Bring your hymn books (we are not going to project the music)
Are there any changes with the music this year?
Yes! We want more music! More impromptu hymn sings! More participation!
We are going to try caroling on the boardwalk.
Bring your instrument and your percussion box, your music stands and your accompanist books.
We are not going to project the music. Bring your hymn books (GB and PTL).
What do we do for meals?
Meals are on your own.
There are lots of restaurants in close walking distance. There is also a restaurant in the hotel that is open for breakfast (at 8 am), lunch, and dinner (until 10 pm).
If you want to save money, we recommend bringing food from home. There are also cheaper fast food restaurants a short drive away.
On the 30th, we're planning to have a leftovers lunch in the Sandpiper room connected to the Swan Ballroom. Bring your leftovers and eat with the group.
We might have a group meal on the last night. We'll keep you posted.
Are there children's activites?
Yes. There will be activities for children ages 4 to 13 during in the morning and in the afternoon during the discussion groups.
We need volunteers to run these activities. You can teach a traditional class or read stories or play games or practice skits or do artwork or lead a meditation session (LOL) or sing songs or make friendship bracelets. Feeling hesitant? Sign up with a friend.
Is there a WhatsApp group?
Well, yes, actually, there is! Join the 2024 Conference WhatsApp group. Check for updates. Invite people for meals or games or hikes. Share thoughts. Share pictures. Tell us when you're on the road. Let us know you got home safely. Post off-topic memes (or, maybe not).
